Hi, I love Little garden , however I got today the "swan plant" that known as very toxin if eaten. Don't you think it can be dangers to market them with the edible plants together? some kids can mix the labels ...Thanks.
Yes, people do need to take care around swan plants. We have included this seedling to help our butterfly population. Swan plants are grown in schools and kindergarten gardens all over New Zealand. Children are unlikely to eat or try to eat swan plants because they have a very unpleasant taste but supervise young children around this plant, or grow your swan plant in an open topped chicken wire frame so the butterflies can fly in but the plant is not accessible to children's hands.
